Disabled Sprite Effects
Sprites can be disabled using StarForge, this is probably the only reason I would ever use StarForge, since all the other editors cannot do this function.

So how do you make disabled sprites? This is how:

1. - Open up StarForge
2. - Place any unit or place the sprite of the unit you want
3. - If you placed the unit, select it, then right click and select Properties
4. - Copy the number to the right of Unit Type
5. - Place any Sprite, select it, then right click and select Properties
6. - Replace the number to the right of Sprite with the number you copied
7. - Select the unit again, go to Properties, uncheck the 'Draw as Sprite'
<-If you placed the sprite of the unit, you are now to this point->
8. - In the Properties menu the 'Disabled' box and you are done! Now try it out in SC!

That's how you make a disabled sprite, now here is a list of how StarCraft reacts to each disabled sprite, these tests were originally performed by DeathKnight, although I have redone each and every unit, and unlike DeathKnight I haven't skipped any, if there is something you see that is on the list made by DeathKnight that is not on mine, it is not because I missed it, it is either because it has changed throughout patches or DeathKnight messed up, because I have gone through and checked each unit for what DeathKnight noticed, and if I cannot find it I do not add it.

    SCV - Acts as if it is mining or attacking and a spark appears in the top left corner

Marine, Jim Raynor - Act normally, but don't move or attack

Firebat, Gui Montag - Creates a rock sprite, crashes immediately if looked at*

Medic - Immediately crashes the game*

Nuclear Silo - It is half built and it will show the number of nukes it's holding, which is always zero, it is Disabled*

Refinery - It is half built, you can gather vespene gas from it, if it's destroyed, it will leave a vespene geyser that you can walk under like a sprite and you can build on it, starts out depleted, it is Disabled*

Barracks - It is half built and will show the lift icon, but cannot be lifted off, it is Disabled*

Academy - It is half built, it is Disabled*

Factory - It is half built and shows lift icon, but cannot lift off, it is Disabled*

Starport - It is half built, shows lift icon, but cannot lift off, it is Disabled*

Science Facility - It is half built, shows lift icon, but cannot lift off, it is Disabled*

Armory - It is half built, it is Disabled*

Missile Turret - It is half built, looks like a half built one with a turret, it is Disabled and doesn't detect or shoot*

Bunker -  It is half built, load icon is there, but you cannot enter it, it is Disabled*

Supply Depot - It is half built,  its fans are spinning super fast, a rock sprite is created above it and it provides supply, it is Disabled*

Engineering Bay - It is half built, and the lights on it are flashing as if it is upgrading super fast, it creates a rock sprite above it and if you see it with another unit's vision as well as its own it crashes, it is Disabled*

Comsat Station - Creates a rocksprite, crashes immediately when looked at*

Control Tower - It is half built, it is Disabled*

Terran Beacon - It is Disabled, but not cloaked*

Protoss Beacon - It is just like a normal beacon, not even Disabled*

Zerg Beacon - It is Disabled, but not cloaked*

Terran Flag Beacon - It is Disabled, it does not have flags spawn on it and it cannot use its COP

Protoss Flag Beacon - It is just like a normal flag beacon, it can use it's COP and it isn't even Disabled or cloaked*

Zerg Flag Beacon - It is Disabled, it does not have flags spawn on it and it cannot use its COP

Floor Hatch - Acts like normal, it starts out open and stays open, can be selected and walked over, gives vision*

Left Upper Level Door - Just like a normal one, starts out down, do not give vision*

Everything after this point was not retested by me, everything past this point unless otherwise marked was simply editted by me to make it easier to read, and although DeathKnight says it crashes, he does not say specifically how it crashes

To get the sprites used in these tests you must do the following:

1. - Place any sprite, I would recommend a unit sprite
2. - Select the sprite
3. - Right click and go to Properties or hit Enter
4. - Uncheck all boxes that are checked
5. - Check the 'Disabled' box
6. - In the box next to 'Sprite:' enter in the number of the sprite below
7. - Test it out in SC!


Sprite 250 - Looks like a Start Location in Starforge, crashes, as it crashes, it plays the 'Kerrigan Death' sound

Sprite 249 - Immediately crashes the game, shows a Scourge in Starforge*
